when i was at a field full of beehives i aimed my camera towards the sky, the bees flew all over and occasionally clashed violently with the camera lens, creating an image reminiscent of a frenzy dance or an abstract painting, and also a sound of a clash. a film also about the contradiction and the confrontation between the natural and the mechanical, the organic and the technological. the mouse is an art/documentary film that deals with the complex and contradictory position of the mouse in our lives. the relation between mice and men began around 10.000 years ago, when humans became resident and the mouse saw the possibility to steal food and warmth from them. today, the mouse has a broad and important impact on our everyday lives. without the mouse, religion would be paltry, horror bleak, and our knowledge about genetics and space research scarce. but above all, our lives would be a lot shorter and less healthy.
