welcome to the international online edition of metakino!

metakino is a series of mini-festivals dedicated to essay films, experimental documentaries and short films from around the world. launched in 2019 and usually taking place in helsinki at whs teatteri union, the series consists of seven editions, each concentrating on a different theme.

all screenings are free, available internationally, and are either in english or have english subtitles. each screening is available on its respective day between 2pm and 10pm CEST.
